I’m Séverine and I love plants and gardening. In 2007 I set up my own gardening business and became a professional gardener.
I learnt my horticultural skills from getting stuck in on the family farm in France, working with other gardeners and by formal study. I have a degree in environmental studies, a certificate in garden design and a RHS horticultural qualification.
I have worked at Glebelands market garden (this is a fantastic organic urban food growing business, check them out) and at Arley Hall gardens in Cheshire. These are 8 acres of RHS affiliated gardens, which have been developed over the past 250 years - a great place to learn about plant combinations and colours.
More recently I have been mentored by artist and garden designer Kate Davies, who has been truly inspirational.
And in April 2011, with fellow horticulturalist Brenda Smith, I opened Bud Garden Centre, in South Manchester, where we sell quality plants and sustainable garden products.
In a previous life I managed environmental projects at the Groundwork trust and I still
provide consultancy support from time to time including Urbis urban gardening exhibition, preparation of funding applications for Rotters, business plan for Offshoots and market research for Fairfield Compost.
For more information about me and how I can help you, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
